🍽️ Fruity Jam Made from Papaya and Orange

Ingredients
- 1000 g Papaya (2 Papayas)
- 500 g Oranges (3 Oranges)
- 500 g Jam sugar (3:1)
Instructions
- 1. Peel the papayas completely.
- 2. Cut the peeled papayas in half.
- 3. Remove the seeds from the inside of the papaya halves.
- 4. Cut the papaya flesh into small cubes.
- 5. Peel the oranges thickly so that no white pith remains on the fruit flesh.
- 6. Carefully separate the orange fruit segments from the membranes.
- 7. Add the orange pieces to the papaya cubes in a bowl.
- 8. Squeeze the empty orange membranes firmly to extract the juice.
- 9. Mix the squeezed orange juice with the fruit pieces.
- 10. Weigh the entire fruit mixture. It should weigh approximately 1.3 kilograms.
- 11. Add the pectin sugar to the fruit mixture.
- 12. Stir everything thoroughly to ensure the sugar dissolves.
- 13. Let the mixture rest for about 2 hours.
- 14. Meanwhile, take 4 screw-top jars with a capacity of 400 milliliters each.
- 15. Rinse the jars along with their lids with boiling water.
- 16. Place the jars upside down on a kitchen towel to let them drain.
- 17. Pour the rested papaya-orange mixture into a cooking pot.
- 18. Heat the mixture while stirring constantly until it boils.
- 19. Then let the jam boil vigorously for 4 minutes.
- 20. Continue stirring while cooking to prevent burning.
- 21. Fill the hot jam immediately into the prepared jars.
- 22. Seal the jars tightly with the lids.
- 23. Place the sealed jars upside down for 5 minutes.
- 24. Then place the jars upright on the work surface.
- 25. Store the jam sealed and in the dark. It will keep for about half a year.
