  1. 1. Cut the bread into small cubes.
  2. 2. Wash the tomatoes and cut them into cubes as well.
  3. 3. Wash the bell peppers, halve them, remove the seeds, and cut the flesh into fine cubes.
  4. 4. Wash the spring onions, trim them, and slice the white and light green parts into fine strips.
  5. 5. Combine all the prepared vegetables and bread with the herbs in a large bowl and mix well.
  6. 6. Peel the garlic and chop it finely.
  7. 7. Whisk the vinegar with salt and pepper in a small bowl.
  8. 8. Slowly add the oil to the vinegar mixture while whisking continuously until a creamy emulsion forms.
  9. 9. Add the capers and the dressing to the bread salad and mix everything thoroughly.
  10. 10. Chill the salad in the refrigerator for about one hour before serving.
