  2. 2. Spread the flour on a separate plate.
  3. 3. Place the breadcrumbs on a third plate.
  4. 4. Carefully dry the mozzarella with kitchen paper.
  5. 5. Cut the mozzarella into thick slices.
  6. 6. Coat each mozzarella slice first in the flour.
  7. 7. Then dip the floured slices into the beaten egg.
  8. 8. Finally press the egg-coated slices firmly into the breadcrumbs so they stick well.
  9. 9. Heat the oil in a heavy pan.
  10. 10. Fry the breaded mozzarella slices until golden brown over medium heat.
  11. 11. Wash the tomatoes thoroughly under running water.
  12. 12. Slice the washed tomatoes.
  13. 13. Place the fried mozzarella slices on pre-warmed plates.
  14. 14. Garnish the dish with fresh basil leaves.
  15. 15. Serve the breaded mozzarella slices immediately with the tomato slices.
