🍽️ Easter wreath made of yeast dough with raisins

Ingredients
- 0.125 l milk
- 1 pack dry yeast
- 80 g sugar
- 500 g wheat flour
- 100 g raisins
- 1 pack vanilla sugar
- 80 g butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp milk
- 1 egg yolk
Instructions
- 1. Soak the raisins in water.
- 2. Mix the dry yeast with the milk and one teaspoon of sugar.
- 3. Let the yeast mixture rise for 15 minutes.
- 4. Sift the flour into a bowl.
- 5. Add all other ingredients and the risen yeast to the bowl.
- 6. Process the ingredients with the dough hook of the hand mixer, first on the lowest setting and then on the highest setting, for about 5 minutes to form a smooth dough.
- 7. Divide the dough into two equal pieces.
- 8. Shape the dough pieces into strands about 70 cm long.
- 9. Twist the two strands together.
- 10. Place the strands on a greased baking sheet.
- 11. Connect the ends to form a wreath.
- 12. Cover the wreath with a kitchen towel.
- 13. Let the wreath rise again for 20 minutes.
- 14. Preheat the oven to 180 to 200 degrees.
- 15. Whisk the egg yolk with the milk.
- 16. Brush the wreaths with the egg yolk and milk mixture.
- 17. Bake the wreaths in the oven for 45 minutes until golden yellow.
- 18. Remove the wreaths from the oven and let them cool.
- 19. Decorate the cooled wreaths with colorful eggs or sweets.
