  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius using conventional heat. If you are using a fan oven, set it to 160 degrees. For gas ovens, select level 2 to 3.
  2. 2. Rinse the orange under hot water and pat it dry.
  3. 3. Finely grate the orange peel to use the zest.
  4. 4. Beat the eggs with a pinch of salt and 80 grams of powdered sugar in a bowl using a hand mixer until the mixture becomes airy and frothy.
  5. 5. Process the butter, vanilla powder, and orange zest into a smooth mixture.
  6. 6. Stir the egg mixture into the butter mixture.
  7. 7. Mix the flour with the baking powder.
  8. 8. Sift the flour mixture over the wet mixture.
  9. 9. Knead everything into a smooth dough.
  10. 10. Cover the dough and place it in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  11. 11. Line a baking sheet with baking paper.
  12. 12. Shape the dough with slightly damp hands into about 65 small balls with a diameter of approx. 1.5 cm.
  13. 13. Roll the balls in the remaining powdered sugar.
  14. 14. Place the balls on the sheet and press them slightly flat.
  15. 15. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
  16. 16. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool completely.
