  1. 1. Thoroughly wash the oranges and the lemon under running water.
  2. 2. Peel the oranges and remove all of the white pith.
  3. 3. Cut the orange flesh into small pieces and catch the juice that escapes.
  4. 4. Do the same with the lemon: peel it, remove the white pith, and cut the flesh into small pieces, catching the juice as well.
  5. 5. Remove as much of the white inner side as possible from the orange peels and the lemon peel.
  6. 6. Cut the cleaned peels into thin, fine strips.
  7. 7. Place the orange and lemon pieces, the collected juice, and the strips into a pot.
  8. 8. Mix the ingredients with the white sugar and the brown sugar.
  9. 9. Bring the mixture to a boil while stirring.
  10. 10. Let the marmalade simmer covered on medium heat for 5 to 8 minutes.
  11. 11. Stir frequently during cooking to prevent burning.
  12. 12. At the end of the cooking time, add the whiskey and stir it in.
  13. 13. Fill the hot marmalade into clean jars.
  14. 14. Seal the jars tightly.
  15. 15. Let the marmalade cool down completely in the jars.
