🍰 Orange Wafer Cake

Ingredients
- 7 blood oranges
- 50 g brown sugar
- 125 g waffle rolls (without chocolate)
- 80 g butter
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 100 g ground hazelnuts
- 200 ml milk
- 1 tbsp vanilla pudding powder
- 80 g dark chocolate
Instructions
- 1. Squeeze the juice from three oranges.
- 2. Pour the juice through a fine sieve into a pot.
- 3. Mix the juice with the sugar.
- 4. Boil the mixture until it becomes thick and syrupy.
- 5. Crush the waffles into fine crumbs using a rolling pin.
- 6. Knead the wafer crumbs with the soft butter to form a dough.
- 7. Press the dough into a springform pan.
- 8. Place the pan in the refrigerator for a few minutes.
- 9. Bring the hazelnuts and one tablespoon of sugar to a boil in the milk.
- 10. Mix the pudding powder with a little cold water until smooth.
- 11. Pour the pudding mixture into the hot milk.
- 12. Stir continuously until the cream thickens.
- 13. Let the cream cool down completely.
- 14. Spread the cooled cream evenly over the wafer base.
- 15. Peel the remaining oranges, removing the thick outer skin.
- 16. Slice the orange peels into thin strips or slices.
- 17. Pat the peel pieces dry with kitchen paper.
- 18. Distribute the orange peels evenly over the cream.
- 19. Pour the prepared orange syrup over the fruits.
- 20. Shave large curls from the chocolate.
- 21. Decorate the cake with the chocolate curls.
