Ingredients
- 2 kg Oranges organic (yields approx. 1.2 l juice)
- 1 cm Ginger
- 500 g Jam sugar (3:1)
Instructions
- 1. Wash the oranges thoroughly.
- 2. Peel the zest thinly from 3 to 4 oranges.
- 3. Cut the orange zest into thin strips.
- 4. Cut the strips into small pieces about 1 to 2 centimeters long.
- 5. Halve the oranges.
- 6. Squeeze the juice out of the oranges.
- 7. Mix the orange juice with the prepared zest.
- 8. Measure the total amount and ensure you have exactly 1250 milliliters.
- 9. Peel the ginger.
- 10. Grate the ginger finely.
- 11. Add the grated ginger to the orange mixture.
- 12. Add the sugar.
- 13. Stir everything well until the sugar has dissolved.
- 14. Bring the mixture to a boil while stirring constantly.
- 15. Let the jam boil vigorously for 4 minutes.
- 16. Fill the hot jam to the brim into prepared, clean jars.
- 17. Seal the jars tightly.
- 18. Let the jars cool down at room temperature.
