🍰 Crunchy Orange Cinnamon Stars

Ingredients
- 6 egg whites
- 500 g powdered sugar
- 3 tsp cinnamon powder
- 4 tbsp orange juice
- 0.5 tsp orange zest
- 600 g ground almond kernels
- 50 g chopped almond kernels
- powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- 1. Whip the egg whites in a bowl until they form stiff peaks.
- 2. Slowly stir the sugar into the egg whites, adding it bit by bit.
- 3. Continue beating the mixture until it becomes shiny and firm.
- 4. Gently fold in the cinnamon, orange juice, orange zest, 500 g of ground almonds, and the chopped almonds into the egg mixture.
- 5. Shape the dough into a ball inside the bowl.
- 6. Cover the bowl and place it in a cool spot for about 1 hour.
- 7. Preheat the oven to 130°C with fan (convection).
- 8. Sprinkle the remaining whole almonds onto your work surface.
- 9. Roll out the dough on the almonds to a thickness of about 1 cm.
- 10. Regularly wet a star-shaped cookie cutter with cold water.
- 11. Cut out stars from the dough.
- 12. Place the stars on two baking sheets lined with baking paper.
- 13. Bake the stars for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven.
- 14. Remove the stars from the tray and let them cool down completely.
- 15. Dust the cooled stars with powdered sugar.
