🍰 One-Pot Mac and Cheese with Crispy Breadcrumbs

Ingredients
- 250 g macaroni
- 650 ml whole milk (3.8% fat)
- 3 tbsp Kerrygold butter
- salt
- 150 g Kerrygold cheddar (grated)
- pepper
- 40 g Kerrygold butter
- 150 g ground bread from the day before (alternatively breadcrumbs/panko)
- a little parsley
Instructions
- 1. Put the pasta, milk, and butter into a pot. Heat the mixture over medium temperature until it boils. Reduce the heat slightly and let it simmer for about 10 minutes. Stir occasionally.
- 2. Once the pasta is tender, add the salt and Cheddar cheese. Season to taste with extra cheese, salt, and pepper.
- 3. Melt the butter for the breadcrumbs in a frying pan over medium heat.
- 4. Stir the ground bread (or breadcrumbs, panko, or plain breadcrumbs) constantly in the butter until it is golden brown and toasted.
- 5. Spread the toasted breadcrumbs and some parsley over the finished Mac and Cheese and serve immediately.
