Ingredients
- 1 Radish
- Salt
- 2 medium-sized Carrots
- 16 very large black Olives (pitted)
- 16 small Olives (pitted)
- 100 g Cream Cheese
- 1 tsp Lemon Juice
- 1 Sprig Parsley
- 16 Red Peppercorns
Instructions
- 1. Peel the radish.
- 2. Cut the radish into 16 slices, each about 1 centimeter thick.
- 3. Lightly salt the radish slices.
- 4. Set the radish slices aside and let them draw out some moisture.
- 5. Peel the carrots.
- 6. Slice the carrots.
- 7. Drain both types of olives.
- 8. Dry the olives.
- 9. Cut a small wedge out of each large olive lengthwise.
- 10. Mix the cream cheese with the lemon juice.
- 11. Lightly salt the cream cheese mixture.
- 12. Spread the cream cheese mixture into the indentations of the large olives.
- 13. Make sure a small white strip remains visible.
- 14. Pat the radish slices dry.
- 15. Place 4 radish slices on a plate.
- 16. Use the radish slices as a base that looks like ice floes.
- 17. Cut a small triangle from the carrot slices.
- 18. Use the triangle as a beak for the penguins.
- 19. Set the triangle aside.
- 20. Place the remaining carrot slices in the center on top of the radish slices.
- 21. Use the carrot slices as the penguins' feet.
- 22. Insert the carrot triangle (beak) into the small olive.
- 23. Take a small wooden skewer.
- 24. Skewer the small olive (head) crosswise onto the stick.
- 25. Insert the stick with the small olive firmly into the large olive (body).
- 26. Press a peppercorn into the cream cheese mixture.
- 27. Press a small piece of parsley into the cream cheese mixture.
- 28. Use the peppercorn and parsley as a tie.
