Ingredients
- 6 small red onions
- 6 garlic cloves
- 1 kg waxy potatoes
- 50 ml olive oil
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 1 dash lemon juice
- 1 pinch caraway seeds
- coarse sea salt
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 2. Peel the onions and cut them into wedges.
- 3. Peel the garlic and slice it.
- 4. Wash the potatoes thoroughly and remove any damaged spots.
- 5. Slice the potatoes into rounds about half a centimeter thick.
- 6. Place the potato slices, onion wedges, and garlic slices into a large bowl.
- 7. Add the oil and season with salt, pepper, lemon juice, and cumin.
- 8. Mix everything well so that the ingredients are evenly seasoned.
- 9. Line two baking sheets with baking paper.
- 10. Distribute the potato mixture evenly across the two baking sheets.
- 11. Place the sheets in the oven and bake for about 40 minutes.
- 12. Swap the baking sheets 2 to 3 times during baking so that the potatoes become crispy on both sides.
- 13. Test for doneness by piercing a potato with a fork.
- 14. Sprinkle the finished potatoes with coarse sea salt before serving.
