  3. 3. Add the potatoes to the boiling water.
  4. 4. Cook the potatoes for 20 to 25 minutes until tender.
  5. 5. Turn on the oven and preheat it to 220 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
  6. 6. Wash the spring onions under running water.
  7. 7. Remove the ends of the spring onions.
  8. 8. Slice the spring onions into thin rings.
  9. 9. Drain the cooking water from the potatoes.
  10. 10. Let the potatoes steam dry for a moment to release moisture.
  11. 11. Cut the potatoes in half through the center.
  12. 12. Grease a baking tray with butter.
  13. 13. Place the potato halves on the tray with the cut side facing up.
  14. 14. Season the potatoes lightly with salt and pepper.
  15. 15. Mix the onion rings with the cheese in a bowl.
  16. 16. Distribute the cheese and onion mixture evenly over the potatoes.
  17. 17. Place the tray into the preheated oven.
