  1. 1. Squeeze the half orange and measure out exactly 75 milliliters of juice.
  2. 2. Put margarine, honey, and vanilla sugar in a bowl. Beat the mixture with the beaters of a hand mixer until creamy and smooth.
  3. 3. Separate the egg into yolk and white. Stir the egg yolk into the margarine-honey mixture.
  4. 4. Mix flour, hazelnuts, and baking powder in a small bowl.
  5. 5. Add the dry mixture to the egg yolk mixture and stir it in.
  6. 6. Add the orange juice gradually until a thick batter forms.
  7. 7. Put the egg white in a tall container.
  8. 8. Beat the egg white with the beaters of a hand mixer until stiff.
  9. 9. Gently fold the egg whites into the batter using a whisk.
  10. 10. Preheat a waffle iron and grease the baking surfaces with a little oil.
  11. 11. Place two tablespoons of batter in the center of the waffle iron.
  12. 12. Close the lid and bake the waffle golden brown for about four minutes.
  13. 13. Bake three more waffles with the remaining batter.
  14. 14. Dust the finished waffles with powdered sugar to taste before serving.
