🍰 Crispy Nut Waffles with Honey Flavor

Ingredients
- 100 g Oranges (0.5 Oranges)
- 50 g Margarine (2 tbsp)
- 1 tbsp Honey
- 0.5 packet Vanilla Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 45 g Whole Wheat Flour (3 tbsp)
- 30 g ground Hazelnuts (3 tbsp)
- 1 pinch Baking Powder
- 0.5 tbsp Oil (e.g. Rapeseed Oil)
- Puderzucker (to taste)
Instructions
- 1. Squeeze the half orange and measure out exactly 75 milliliters of juice.
- 2. Put margarine, honey, and vanilla sugar in a bowl. Beat the mixture with the beaters of a hand mixer until creamy and smooth.
- 3. Separate the egg into yolk and white. Stir the egg yolk into the margarine-honey mixture.
- 4. Mix flour, hazelnuts, and baking powder in a small bowl.
- 5. Add the dry mixture to the egg yolk mixture and stir it in.
- 6. Add the orange juice gradually until a thick batter forms.
- 7. Put the egg white in a tall container.
- 8. Beat the egg white with the beaters of a hand mixer until stiff.
- 9. Gently fold the egg whites into the batter using a whisk.
- 10. Preheat a waffle iron and grease the baking surfaces with a little oil.
- 11. Place two tablespoons of batter in the center of the waffle iron.
- 12. Close the lid and bake the waffle golden brown for about four minutes.
- 13. Bake three more waffles with the remaining batter.
- 14. Dust the finished waffles with powdered sugar to taste before serving.
