🍽️ Crunchy Nut Bars

Ingredients
- 225 g flour
- 125 g cold butter
- 1 tbsp dark cocoa powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 50 g sugar
- 1 egg
- 50 g sugar
- 50 g honey
- 50 g butter
- 500 g mixed nuts (not salted)
Instructions
- 1. Pour the flour onto a clean work surface.
- 2. Mix the flour with the sugar, the cocoa, and the salt.
- 3. Press a small indentation into the center of the flour mound with your hand.
- 4. Cut the cold butter into small cubes.
- 5. Place the butter cubes around the indentation.
- 6. Place the egg in the center of the indentation.
- 7. Add about 3 tablespoons of lukewarm water.
- 8. Chop everything with a knife until small crumbs form.
- 9. Quickly knead the crumbs into a smooth dough using your hands.
- 10. Shape the dough into a ball.
- 11. Wrap the dough ball in plastic wrap.
- 12. Place the foil in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
- 13. Put sugar, honey, and butter into a pot.
- 14. Heat the mixture.
- 15. Let the mixture simmer gently for about 5 minutes while stirring constantly.
- 16. Coarsely chop the nuts.
- 17. Stir the nuts into the hot mixture.
- 18. Let everything simmer for another 5 minutes.
- 19. Place the dough between two sheets of baking paper.
- 20. Roll the dough out thinly, about 2 millimeters thick.
- 21. Place the dough on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- 22. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
- 23. Pre-bake the dough in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes.
- 24. Spread the nut mixture evenly over the pre-baked dough.
- 25. Bake everything at 160 degrees for about 25 minutes.
- 26. Remove the tray from the oven.
- 27. Let the bars cool slightly for a short time.
- 28. Cut the bars into small squares.
- 29. Place the squares on a wire rack.
- 30. Let the bars cool completely.
