🍰 Moist Walnut Apple Cake

Ingredients
- 200 g ground walnut kernels
- 250 g soft butter
- 3 eggs
- 250 g forest honey
- scraped vanilla pod
- 200 g flour
- 1 large apple
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 packet baking powder
- 100 ml cream sherry
- 50 g cake glaze
- 50 g milk
- 10 nice walnut kernel halves (for decoration)
- 2 tsp chopped pistachios
Instructions
- 1. Peel the apple and cut it into quarters.
- 2. Remove the core from the apple pieces.
- 3. Grate the apple pieces finely.
- 4. Mix the grated apples immediately with the lemon juice to prevent browning.
- 5. Beat the butter until creamy and soft.
- 6. Add the eggs to the butter one by one and mix well after each addition.
- 7. Stir the honey into the butter-egg mixture.
- 8. Add the vanilla seeds and mix everything well.
- 9. Mix the flour with the baking powder and the walnuts in a separate bowl.
- 10. Fold the flour-nut mixture into the butter mixture.
- 11. Stir the Cream Sherry into the batter.
- 12. Fold the marinated apple shreds into the batter.
- 13. Grease a loaf pan with butter.
- 14. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- 15. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius conventional heat (or 160 degrees Celsius fan-forced).
- 16. Bake the cake for about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
- 17. Cover the cake with aluminum foil if it starts to brown too much.
- 18. Remove the cake from the oven.
- 19. Let the cake cool down briefly in the pan.
- 20. Turn the cake out onto a cooling rack.
- 21. Let the cake cool completely.
- 22. Prepare the cake glaze according to the package instructions.
- 23. Pour the glaze over the cooled cake.
- 24. Sprinkle the cake with walnuts and pistachios.
- 25. Let the glaze dry completely.
