  1. 1. Peel the apple and cut it into quarters.
  2. 2. Remove the core from the apple pieces.
  3. 3. Grate the apple pieces finely.
  4. 4. Mix the grated apples immediately with the lemon juice to prevent browning.
  5. 5. Beat the butter until creamy and soft.
  6. 6. Add the eggs to the butter one by one and mix well after each addition.
  7. 7. Stir the honey into the butter-egg mixture.
  8. 8. Add the vanilla seeds and mix everything well.
  9. 9. Mix the flour with the baking powder and the walnuts in a separate bowl.
  10. 10. Fold the flour-nut mixture into the butter mixture.
  11. 11. Stir the Cream Sherry into the batter.
  12. 12. Fold the marinated apple shreds into the batter.
  13. 13. Grease a loaf pan with butter.
  14. 14. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  15. 15. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius conventional heat (or 160 degrees Celsius fan-forced).
  16. 16. Bake the cake for about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  17. 17. Cover the cake with aluminum foil if it starts to brown too much.
  18. 18. Remove the cake from the oven.
  19. 19. Let the cake cool down briefly in the pan.
  20. 20. Turn the cake out onto a cooling rack.
  21. 21. Let the cake cool completely.
  22. 22. Prepare the cake glaze according to the package instructions.
  23. 23. Pour the glaze over the cooled cake.
  24. 24. Sprinkle the cake with walnuts and pistachios.
  25. 25. Let the glaze dry completely.
