🍽️ Crispy Apple Nut Rolls

Ingredients
- 250 g flour
- 3 tbsp butter
- 125 ml milk
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 20 g fresh yeast (0.5 cube)
- 1 egg yolk
- flour (for the work surface)
- baking paper
- 400 g apples
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 30 g nuts
- 3 tbsp butter
Instructions
- 1. Mix the milk with one tablespoon of sugar and the yeast until smooth.
- 2. Put flour, butter, remaining sugar, and the egg yolk in a bowl.
- 3. Pour in the yeast milk, and knead everything with the beaters of an electric hand mixer into a smooth dough.
- 4. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes.
- 5. Peel the apples, quarter them, remove the core.
- 6. Chop them into small pieces.
- 7. Heat three tablespoons of water and stew the apples in it over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes.
- 8. Sweeten with two tablespoons of sugar and let cool.
- 9. Knead the dough briefly on a lightly floured surface.
- 10. Roll it out into a rectangle about 20 by 30 centimeters.
- 11. Mix one tablespoon of sugar with cinnamon and nuts.
- 12. Sprinkle the dough with this mixture.
- 13. Spread the cooled apples on top.
- 14. Roll the dough up from the long side.
- 15. Cut it into six slices.
- 16. Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- 17. Let them rise covered for another 20 minutes.
- 18. Melt the remaining butter.
- 19. Brush the rolls with the melted butter.
- 20. Bake them in the preheated oven at 200 degrees (center) for about 25 minutes.
