Ingredients
- 200 g Oat Flakes
- 125 g Flour
- 125 g brown Sugar
- 125 g Corn Flour
- 1 Pinch Salt
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 220 g Butter (melted)
- 1 Egg
- 2 tbsp Vanilla Sugar
- 375 g fine brown Sugar
- 180 g Honey
- 180 g soft Butter
- 2 tbsp Whipping Cream
- 250 g Peanuts (unsalted)
- 1 tsp Vanilla Paste
- 250 g Chocolate chips
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 2. Line a baking sheet with baking paper.
- 3. Mix the oats with the flour, sugar, cornstarch, salt, and baking powder in a bowl.
- 4. Beat the butter and the egg together until the mixture is frothy.
- 5. Stir the vanilla sugar into the butter-egg mixture.
- 6. Add the wet mixture to the dry oat-flour mixture.
- 7. Stir everything together to form a homogeneous dough.
- 8. Place the dough on the prepared baking sheet.
- 9. Smooth out the dough.
- 10. Bake the base for about 20 to 25 minutes.
- 11. Melt the sugar in a pan until it caramelizes to a golden yellow color.
- 12. Stir the honey, butter, and cream into the caramel.
- 13. Let the caramel mixture simmer quietly for about 3 minutes.
- 14. Stir the nuts and vanilla seeds into the caramel mixture.
- 15. Let the mixture cool down slightly for a moment.
- 16. Fold the chocolate chips into the caramel mixture.
- 17. Spread the caramel mixture over the pre-baked dough base.
- 18. Let the cake cool completely on a wire rack.
- 19. Cut the cake into pieces of about 12 cm by 5 cm.
