  1. 1. Squeeze the juice from the half lemon into a small bowl.
  2. 2. Peel the apples and cut them into quarters.
  3. 3. Remove the core from the apple quarters.
  4. 4. Grate the apple pieces coarsely.
  5. 5. Mix the grated apples immediately with the lemon juice to prevent browning.
  6. 6. Cut the apricots into coarse cubes.
  7. 7. Set aside a small handful of almonds for later decoration.
  8. 8. In a large bowl, mix the apples with the raisins, the remaining almonds, the hazelnuts, the apricots, the honey, the spices, and the orange juice.
  9. 9. Let the fruit mixture soak overnight.
  10. 10. In a separate bowl, mix the flours, the baking powder, and the salt.
  11. 11. Knead the flour mixture and the egg into the overnight fruit mass until a dough forms.
  12. 12. Line a loaf pan with baking paper.
  13. 13. Fill the dough into the prepared pan.
  14. 14. Smooth the surface of the dough.
  15. 15. Brush the surface of the dough with condensed milk.
  16. 16. Decorate the surface with the candied cherries and the remaining almonds.
  17. 17. Preheat the oven.
  18. 18. Bake the loaf at 175 degrees Celsius (convection 150 degrees Celsius or gas mark 2) for about one hour.
  19. 19. Remove the bread from the oven.
  20. 20. Let the bread cool slightly in the pan.
  21. 21. Turn the bread out of the pan.
  22. 22. Let the bread cool completely.
