🍝 Creative Pasta with Tuna Tomato Sauce

Ingredients
- 400 g Fusilli
- Salt
- 150 g Tuna (1 can)
- 1 Onion (depending on size)
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 2 Plum tomatoes
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 1 tbsp Tomato paste
- Pepper (from the mill)
- 100 ml Vegetable broth
- 1 dried chili pepper (to taste) crushed
- 1 bunch Basil
Instructions
- 1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add some salt.
- 2. Cook the pasta in this salted water until it is al dente (still firm to the bite).
- 3. Drain the pasta and set it aside.
- 4. Open the can of tuna and drain the water.
- 5. Use two forks to break the tuna into coarse chunks.
- 6. Peel the onions and the garlic.
- 7. Finely chop the onions and the garlic.
- 8. Pour boiling water over the tomatoes.
- 9. Shock the tomatoes immediately with cold water.
- 10. Peel the skin off the tomatoes.
- 11. Cut the peeled tomatoes into small cubes.
- 12. Heat oil in a frying pan.
- 13. Sauté the chopped onions and garlic in the hot oil.
- 14. Stir in the tomato paste and let it cook briefly.
- 15. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
- 16. Deglaze the pan with the broth.
- 17. Add the diced tomatoes to the sauce.
- 18. Bring the sauce to a boil.
- 19. Season the sauce to taste with chili, salt, and pepper.
- 20. Add the chunked tuna to the sauce.
- 21. Let the tuna warm through in the sauce.
- 22. Mix the drained pasta with the tuna sauce.
- 23. Place the pasta on pre-warmed plates.
- 24. Sprinkle the dish with fresh basil leaves.
- 25. Serve the pasta immediately.
