  1. 1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add some salt.
  2. 2. Cook the pasta in this salted water for as long as indicated on the package.
  3. 3. Drain the pasta and let it drip dry well.
  4. 4. Clean the mushrooms and slice them into thin pieces.
  5. 5. Peel the onion and chop it into very small cubes.
  6. 6. Heat the butter in a large pan.
  7. 7. Add the chopped onions to the hot butter and sauté them until soft.
  8. 8. Add the mushroom slices to the pan.
  9. 9. Fry everything while stirring constantly until the liquid from the mushrooms has evaporated.
  10. 10. Pour the cream into the pan.
  11. 11. Let the sauce simmer gently for five minutes.
  12. 12. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to your taste.
  13. 13. Wash the basil and dry it.
  14. 14. Finely chop the basil leaves.
  15. 15. Stir the chopped basil into the mushroom sauce.
  16. 16. Distribute the drained pasta onto the plates.
  17. 17. Pour the warm mushroom sauce over the pasta.
  18. 18. Grate fresh Parmesan over the finished dish.
