  5. 5. Cook the vegetables for 5 minutes (this is called blanching, i.e., brief cooking in boiling water).
  6. 6. Remove the vegetables from the water.
  7. 7. Rinse the vegetables immediately with cold water to stop the cooking process.
  8. 8. Let the vegetables drain well in a colander.
  9. 9. Bring fresh water with salt to a boil.
  10. 10. Cook the spaghetti in this water.
  11. 11. Cook the pasta until al dente (still firm to the bite).
  12. 12. Drain the pasta.
  13. 13. Let the pasta drip dry well.
  14. 14. Wash the shrimp.
  15. 15. Pat the shrimp dry with a kitchen towel.
  16. 16. Heat the butter in a pan.
  17. 17. Peel the garlic.
  18. 18. Press the garlic into the hot pan.

  20. 20. Fry the shrimp briefly on both sides over high heat.

  22. 22. Add the drained peas and snow peas to the pan.
  23. 23. Toss everything briefly so the pasta absorbs the garlic butter.
