  1. 1. Bring a pot of water and salt to a boil.
  2. 2. Add the broad beans to the boiling water.
  3. 3. Cook the beans for about 3 minutes.
  4. 4. Immediately shock the beans with cold water to stop the cooking process.
  5. 5. Let the beans drain well in a colander.
  6. 6. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  7. 7. Cook the pasta in it until it is al dente.
  8. 8. Reserve some of the pasta cooking water.
  9. 9. Peel the garlic cloves.
  10. 10. Finely chop the garlic.
  11. 11. Heat olive oil in a pan.
  12. 12. Sauté the garlic in the hot oil until fragrant.
  13. 13. Add the drained beans to the pan.
  14. 14. Add the basil.
  15. 15. Add the drained pasta to the pan.
  16. 16. Toss everything with a splash of the prepared pasta cooking water.
  17. 17. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste.
  18. 18. Serve the dish immediately.
