  1. 1. Peel the onion.
  2. 2. Take the tomatoes out of the can and chop them finely.
  3. 3. Wash the parsley.
  4. 4. Pluck the parsley leaves from the stems and chop them finely.
  5. 5. Heat the oil in a pot.
  6. 6. Grate the onion finely into the hot oil and sauté briefly.
  7. 7. Add the minced meat.
  8. 8. Fry the meat thoroughly while stirring constantly.
  9. 9. Add the chopped tomatoes including their liquid to the meat.
  10. 10. Stir the tomatoes into the meat.
  11. 11. Stir in the tomato paste.
  12. 12. Sprinkle the chopped parsley over it.
  13. 13. Season the sauce with salt and pepper.
  14. 14. Let the sauce simmer covered on low heat for 30 to 35 minutes.
  15. 15. Simmer until the sauce has thickened.
  16. 16. Remove the pot from the heat.
  17. 17. Let the meat sauce cool down.
  18. 18. Grate the cheese.
  19. 19. Whisk the egg in a small bowl.
  20. 20. Mix the whisked egg with about one quarter of the grated cheese.

  38. 38. Grease a baking dish (approx. 30 cm x 40 cm).

  40. 40. Spread half of the macaroni evenly into the dish.
  41. 41. Spread the minced meat evenly over the pasta.
  42. 42. Cover the meat with the remaining macaroni.
  43. 43. Spread the béchamel sauce evenly over the surface.
  44. 44. Place the dish in the oven.
  45. 45. Bake the pasta bake for about 40 minutes.
  46. 46. Bake until the surface is golden brown.
