🍝 Crispy Pasta and Minced Meat Casserole

Ingredients
- 2 dried tomatoes (preserved in oil)
- 1 large onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 400 g mixed minced meat
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 400 g peeled tomatoes (can)
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 2 tbsp freshly chopped thyme
- sugar
- 400 g macaroni
- 200 g grated mozzarella
- 50 g parmesan
- butter (for the dish)
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius fan-forced.
- 2. Drain the sun-dried tomatoes and chop them into small pieces.
- 3. Peel the onion and garlic and dice them finely.
- 4. Heat oil in a pot and sauté the onion and garlic mixture briefly.
- 5. Add the minced meat and fry it until crumbly.
- 6. Stir the tomato paste into the meat.
- 7. Add the sun-dried tomatoes and the peeled tomatoes.
- 8. Season the sauce with salt, pepper, thyme, and a pinch of sugar.
- 9. Cook the pasta in plenty of boiling salted water until very al dente.
- 10. Drain the pasta and let it drain well.
- 11. Mix the mozzarella with the parmesan in a bowl.
- 12. Grease a baking dish.
- 13. Layer the macaroni, the minced meat, and half of the cheese mixture into the dish.
- 14. Sprinkle the top layer of pasta with the remaining cheese.
- 15. Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
