  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius fan-forced.
  2. 2. Drain the sun-dried tomatoes and chop them into small pieces.
  3. 3. Peel the onion and garlic and dice them finely.
  4. 4. Heat oil in a pot and sauté the onion and garlic mixture briefly.
  5. 5. Add the minced meat and fry it until crumbly.
  6. 6. Stir the tomato paste into the meat.
  7. 7. Add the sun-dried tomatoes and the peeled tomatoes.
  8. 8. Season the sauce with salt, pepper, thyme, and a pinch of sugar.
  9. 9. Cook the pasta in plenty of boiling salted water until very al dente.
  10. 10. Drain the pasta and let it drain well.
  11. 11. Mix the mozzarella with the parmesan in a bowl.
  12. 12. Grease a baking dish.
  13. 13. Layer the macaroni, the minced meat, and half of the cheese mixture into the dish.
  14. 14. Sprinkle the top layer of pasta with the remaining cheese.
  15. 15. Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
