  1. 1. Take the well-chilled salmon fillet.
  2. 2. Slice the fillet diagonally into 8 very thin slices.
  3. 3. Make sure the slices are about 3 x 5 cm in size and uniform.
  4. 4. Spread a thin layer of wasabi paste on one side of each fish slice.
  5. 5. Take the sushi rice.
  6. 6. Lightly wet your hands with water so the rice does not stick.
  7. 7. Shape the rice with your hands into 8 oblong balls.
  8. 8. Gently press a fish slice (wasabi side down) onto a rice ball.
  9. 9. Repeat this for all 8 pieces.
  10. 10. Arrange the finished nigiri sushi.
  11. 11. Serve them immediately to keep them fresh.
  12. 12. Accompany the sushi with pickled ginger (Gari or Shoga).
