  6. 6. Grease a 26 cm (10 inch) springform pan with the butter.
  7. 7. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
  8. 8. Set the fan-assisted heat to 180 degrees Celsius.
  9. 9. Set the gas mark to 3 to 4.
  10. 10. Add the sugar to the liquid butter in the bowl.
  11. 11. Add the flour to the bowl.
  12. 12. Add the ground almonds to the bowl.
  13. 13. Mix everything together using a hand mixer on the lowest setting.
  14. 14. Stir until a crumbly dough forms.
  15. 15. Take about half of the crumble mixture.
  16. 16. Place this half into the prepared springform pan.
  17. 17. Spread the mixture evenly across the bottom of the pan.
  18. 18. Press the mixture down firmly to form a base.
  19. 19. Ensure the base is about half a centimeter thick.

  21. 21. Scatter the sliced almonds evenly over the dough base.
  22. 22. Place the starch into a fine sieve.
  23. 23. Dust the starch evenly over the sliced almonds.
  24. 24. Wash the nectarines thoroughly under running water.
  25. 25. Halve the nectarines.
  26. 26. Remove the pits from the fruit halves.
  27. 27. Cut each fruit half into eight thin wedges.
  28. 28. Place the nectarine wedges overlapping on the prepared base.
  29. 29. Take the remaining crumble mixture.
  30. 30. Crumble the remaining mixture evenly over the nectarines.
  31. 31. Take the remaining sliced almonds.
  32. 32. Sprinkle the remaining sliced almonds over the cake.
  33. 33. Place the pan on the middle rack in the oven.
  34. 34. Bake the cake for 30 minutes.
  35. 35. Remove the cake from the oven.
  36. 36. Let the cake cool down completely in the pan.
