🍽️ Shell pasta with grilled tomato sauce

Ingredients
- 1 kg tomatoes
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 shallots
- 350 g large shell pasta (preferably whole grain)
- salt
- 3 sprigs marjoram
- 3 anchovy fillets
Instructions
- 1. Wash the tomatoes thoroughly.
- 2. Cut out the hard stem areas from the tomatoes in a wedge shape.
- 3. Cut the tomatoes in half.
- 4. Place the tomato halves on a baking sheet with the cut side facing down.
- 5. Drizzle the tomatoes with a little olive oil.
- 6. Preheat your oven's grill function.
- 7. Place the baking sheet on the second rack from the top.
- 8. Grill the tomatoes for 12 to 15 minutes.
- 9. Wait until the tomato skin has darkened.
- 10. Peel the browned skin off the tomatoes.
- 11. Peel the garlic.
- 12. Peel the shallots.
- 13. Slice the garlic into thin pieces.
- 14. Slice the shallots into thin pieces.
- 15. Add the remaining olive oil to a frying pan.
- 16. Heat the oil over medium heat.
- 17. Add the garlic and shallots to the pan.
- 18. Sauté the vegetables until translucent.
- 19. Add the peeled tomatoes along with their juices to the pan.
- 20. Cover the pan.
- 21. Let the sauce simmer for 15 minutes.
- 22. Fill a large pot with water.
- 23. Salt the water generously.
- 24. Bring the water to a boil.
- 25. Cook the shell pasta according to the package instructions.
- 26. Wash the marjoram under running water.
- 27. Shake the marjoram dry.
- 28. Pluck the leaves off the marjoram stems.
- 29. Chop the marjoram leaves roughly.
- 30. Place the anchovies in a mortar.
- 31. Add a pinch of salt to the anchovies.
- 32. Pound the anchovies with a pestle until they form a smooth paste.
- 33. Stir the anchovy paste into the tomato sauce.
- 34. Cook the sauce for another 2 minutes.
- 35. Fold the chopped marjoram leaves into the sauce.
- 36. Drain the cooked pasta in a colander.
- 37. Let the pasta drain well.
- 38. Mix the pasta with the tomato sauce.
- 39. Serve the dish immediately.
