🍰 Classic Mussel Tartelets

Ingredients
- 6 slices puff pastry (square)
- 150 g mussel meat (pre-cooked, ready for kitchen)
- 2 tomatoes
- 2 garlic cloves
- 4 eggs
- 100 g freshly grated Gruyère cheese
- 250 ml whipping cream
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 0.5 bunch parsley (coarsely chopped)
- nutmeg (ground)
- flour (for the tartlet molds)
- oil (for the tartlet molds)
Instructions
- 1. Let the puff pastry thaw at room temperature.
- 2. Whisk the eggs in a bowl.
- 3. Stir in the cheese and cream.
- 4. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
- 5. Peel the garlic.
- 6. Press the garlic into the bowl.
- 7. Season with a little salt, nutmeg, and pepper.
- 8. Finely chop the parsley and stir it in.
- 9. Wash the tomatoes thoroughly.
- 10. Remove the hard stem attachment at the top.
- 11. Slice the tomatoes into even rounds.
- 12. Lightly dust your work surface with flour.
- 13. Roll out the pastry pieces flat.
- 14. Grease the tartlet molds with some fat.
- 15. Place the pastry circles into the molds.
- 16. Press the pastry gently against the mold walls.
- 17. Trim off the overhanging pastry edges.
- 18. Place the mussels into the tartlets.
- 19. Distribute the tomato slices on top.
- 20. Pour the cheese-egg-cream mixture over everything.
- 21. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius with fan.
- 22. Bake the tartlets for 15 to 20 minutes.
- 23. Remove the molds from the oven.
- 24. Let the tartlets cool down to lukewarm.
- 25. Serve the tartlets directly.
