  1. 1. Roughly chop the nuts. Combine them in a large mixing bowl with the sunflower seeds, oat flakes, almonds, coconut flakes, rice flakes, sesame seeds, and demerara sugar, and mix well.
  2. 2. Melt the beet syrup and butter in a saucepan over low heat for about 3 minutes. Stir the melted mixture and the apple sauce into the dry ingredients. Chop the raisins and fold them into the mixture as well.
  3. 3. Line a baking sheet with baking paper. Spread the mixture evenly over it to a thickness of about 2 cm. Bake the bars in a preheated oven at 180 °C (convection 160 °C; gas mark 2–3) for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown.
  4. 4. Remove the tray from the oven. Cut the still-warm bars into small pieces and let them cool completely on a wire rack. Store the finished bars in a cool, dry, and dark place.
