🍳 Crunchy Muesli Bars with Chocolate Coating

Ingredients
- 160 g Butter
- 240 g Honey
- 140 g mixed dried fruit (e.g. apricots, apples, figs, plums, etc.)
- 120 g ground almond kernels
- 80 g ground hazelnuts
- 70 g coarsely chopped hazelnuts
- 70 g coconut flakes
- 180 g flakes (e.g. oats, barley, wheat, rye and spelt)
- 3 tbsp flour
- 200 g dark chocolate coating
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 2. Melt the butter together with the honey in a pot over very low heat.
- 3. Roughly chop the dried fruits.
- 4. Stir the chopped fruits, almonds, nuts, coconut flakes, flakes, and flour into the melted butter-honey mixture.
- 5. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- 6. Spread the muesli mixture evenly on the tray to a thickness of about 1 centimeter.
- 7. Bake the mixture in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
- 8. Roughly chop the chocolate coating.
- 9. Place a bowl with the chocolate coating over a pot of hot, but not boiling water (a so-called water bath).
- 10. Melt the chocolate coating while stirring occasionally.
- 11. Remove the bowl from the water bath and let the liquid chocolate cool down slightly.
- 12. Take the baked muesli base out of the oven and let it cool down completely.
- 13. Cut the cooled muesli base into bars measuring 2 by 8 centimeters each.
- 14. Dip one side of each bar into the liquid chocolate.
- 15. Place the bars with the chocolate side facing up on a wire rack or a clean baking tray.
- 16. Let the chocolate dry in the air until it is firm.
