  1. 1. Put all dough ingredients into a bowl.
  2. 2. Mix the ingredients using the dough hook of the hand mixer.
  3. 3. Knead the mixture briefly by hand into a smooth dough.
  4. 4. Place the dough in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours.
  5. 5. Lightly dust a work surface with flour.
  6. 6. Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 3 millimeters.
  7. 7. Cut out 25 flowers using a large flower-shaped cookie cutter.
  8. 8. Cut out another 25 flowers using a small flower-shaped cookie cutter.
  9. 9. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  10. 10. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius.
  11. 11. Bake the cookies for about 10 minutes until golden yellow.
  12. 12. Remove the cookies from the tray and let them cool down completely.
  13. 13. Stir powdered sugar, lemon juice, and a few drops of food coloring into a thick icing.
  14. 14. Brush the larger flower cookies with the icing.
  15. 15. Place the smaller cookies on top of the larger ones.
  16. 16. Brush the top cookies with the icing as well.
  17. 17. Place a small sugar ball in the center of each flower.
