🍽️ Flower cookies with icing

Ingredients
- 300 g flour
- 100 g sugar
- 100 g ground almond kernels
- 225 g butter
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 egg yolk
- 5 drops bitter almond flavoring
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- flour (for rolling out)
- 1 egg yolk
- 3 tbsp milk
- 100 g powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- red food coloring
- sugar pearls
Instructions
- 1. Put all dough ingredients into a bowl.
- 2. Mix the ingredients using the dough hook of the hand mixer.
- 3. Knead the mixture briefly by hand into a smooth dough.
- 4. Place the dough in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours.
- 5. Lightly dust a work surface with flour.
- 6. Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 3 millimeters.
- 7. Cut out 25 flowers using a large flower-shaped cookie cutter.
- 8. Cut out another 25 flowers using a small flower-shaped cookie cutter.
- 9. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- 10. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius.
- 11. Bake the cookies for about 10 minutes until golden yellow.
- 12. Remove the cookies from the tray and let them cool down completely.
- 13. Stir powdered sugar, lemon juice, and a few drops of food coloring into a thick icing.
- 14. Brush the larger flower cookies with the icing.
- 15. Place the smaller cookies on top of the larger ones.
- 16. Brush the top cookies with the icing as well.
- 17. Place a small sugar ball in the center of each flower.
