  5. 5. Remove the hard stem area from the tomatoes.
  6. 6. Slice the tomatoes into slices about 2 cm thick.
  7. 7. Peel the garlic.
  8. 8. Halve the garlic cloves.
  9. 9. Place the garlic halves, basil stems, and cut vegetables in a shallow baking dish.
  10. 10. Season the vegetables with salt and pepper.
  11. 11. Drizzle the vegetables generously with olive oil.
  12. 12. Cover the dish.
  13. 13. Let the vegetables marinate for about 2 hours.
  14. 14. Take the vegetables out of the marinade.
  15. 15. Preheat the grill.
  16. 16. Place the vegetables on the hot grill.
