  5. 5. Sprinkle the sugar over the vegetables.
  6. 6. Deglaze the vegetables with the vegetable broth.
  7. 7. Bring the soup to a boil.
  8. 8. Simmer the soup over medium heat for about 10 minutes.
  9. 9. Puree the soup finely in a blender.
  10. 10. Pour the pureed soup back into the pot.
