  6. 6. Sauté the shallot in the hot butter until it is soft and translucent.
  7. 7. Add the carrot and potato cubes to the pot.
  8. 8. Sauté the vegetables for 5 minutes.
  9. 9. Pour in the broth.
  10. 10. Let the soup simmer for about 20 minutes.
  11. 11. Puree the soup until smooth.
  12. 12. Grate the orange zest.
  13. 13. Squeeze the orange juice.
  14. 14. Stir the orange zest and orange juice into the pureed soup.

  16. 16. Season the soup with salt and pepper to taste.
