🍽️ Carrot Rolls with Walnuts

Ingredients
- 350 g Carrots
- 1 Cube fresh yeast (approx. 42 g)
- 650 g Flour
- 1 Pinch Salt
- 75 g Sugar
- 125 g Butter
- 2 Eggs
- 150 ml lukewarm milk
- 100 g chopped walnuts
- 2 Egg yolks
- 12 Walnut kernels
Instructions
- 1. Peel the carrots and grate them finely.
- 2. Dissolve the yeast in 125 milliliters of lukewarm water.
- 3. Mix the flour with the salt and the sugar.
- 4. Place the flour mixture into a bowl.
- 5. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture.
- 6. Pour the yeast water into the well.
- 7. Cover the well with a little flour from the edges.
- 8. Let the dough rise, covered, in a warm place for about 15 minutes.
- 9. Add the butter, the eggs, and the milk to the dough.
- 10. Add the chopped nuts and the grated carrots.
- 11. Knead everything into a smooth dough.
- 12. If the dough is too wet, knein in a little more flour.
- 13. If the dough is too dry, add a little lukewarm water.
- 14. Let the dough rise, covered, for 1 hour.
- 15. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 16. Knead the dough well again.
- 17. Cut off 12 equal portions of dough.
- 18. Shape the portions into rolls.
- 19. Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- 20. Brush the rolls with egg yolk.
- 21. Place a walnut half on each roll.
- 22. Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes.
- 23. Take the rolls out of the oven.
- 24. Let the rolls cool down.
