  1. 1. Peel the carrots and grate them finely.
  2. 2. Dissolve the yeast in 125 milliliters of lukewarm water.
  3. 3. Mix the flour with the salt and the sugar.
  4. 4. Place the flour mixture into a bowl.
  5. 5. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture.
  6. 6. Pour the yeast water into the well.
  7. 7. Cover the well with a little flour from the edges.
  8. 8. Let the dough rise, covered, in a warm place for about 15 minutes.
  9. 9. Add the butter, the eggs, and the milk to the dough.
  10. 10. Add the chopped nuts and the grated carrots.
  11. 11. Knead everything into a smooth dough.
  12. 12. If the dough is too wet, knein in a little more flour.
  13. 13. If the dough is too dry, add a little lukewarm water.
  14. 14. Let the dough rise, covered, for 1 hour.
  15. 15. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
  16. 16. Knead the dough well again.
  17. 17. Cut off 12 equal portions of dough.
