  1. 1. Pick the basil leaves off the stems.
  2. 2. Wash the leaves under cold water.
  3. 3. Gently pat the leaves dry with a kitchen towel.
  4. 4. Grate both types of cheese finely.
  5. 5. Peel the garlic.
  6. 6. Cut the garlic into coarse pieces.
  7. 7. Put the basil, cheese, garlic and pine nuts into a bowl.
  8. 8. Get a hand blender ready.
  9. 9. Blend the ingredients roughly.
  10. 10. Add the olive oil gradually.
  11. 11. Continue blending until a creamy sauce forms.
  12. 12. Season the sauce with salt at the end.
  13. 13. Wash the tomatoes.
  14. 14. Thread one tomato and one mozzarella ball alternately onto a toothpick.
  15. 15. Place the finished skewers in a small baking dish.
  16. 16. Coat the skewers with the pesto.
  17. 17. Cover the dish with cling film.
  18. 18. Let the skewers infuse for about 60 minutes at room temperature.
