🍰 Small cakes with cherries and marzipan

Ingredients
- 36 fresh sweet cherries
- 125 g soft butter
- 125 g sugar
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 2 eggs
- 250 g flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 4 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp grated lemon zest
- 100 g marzipan raw mass
- powdered sugar
Instructions
- 1. Wash the cherries and remove the pits. Beat the butter together with the sugar, vanilla sugar, and eggs until creamy. Mix the flour with the baking powder and fold this mixture, along with the milk and lemon zest, into the butter mixture.
- 2. Cut the marzipan into small pieces and stir it into the batter.
- 3. Place two paper cups inside each other. Fill the batter into the cups and place three cherries on top of each, pressing them in slightly.
- 4. Place the cups on a baking sheet and bake them in the preheated oven at 180 degrees on the middle rack for 25 to 30 minutes. Remove them and let them cool on a wire rack. Serve the cakes with a dusting of powdered sugar.
