🍽️ French Nun's Farts (Pets de Nonne)

Ingredients
- 50 g Butter
- 1 pinch Salt
- 150 g Flour
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 1 pinch Baking Powder
- 4 Eggs
- Frying Oil (e.g. Ghee)
- Icing Sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- 1. Put the water, butter, and salt into a pot.
- 2. Bring the mixture to a boil while stirring.
- 3. Remove the pot from the heat.
- 4. Stir in the flour all at once into the hot liquid.
- 5. Place the pot back on the stove.
- 6. Stir the dough vigorously until it pulls away from the bottom of the pot.
- 7. Let the dough cool down briefly.
- 8. Transfer the dough into a large mixing bowl.
- 9. Mix the sugar with the baking powder.
- 10. Beat the dry mixture into the dough using a hand mixer with dough hooks.
- 11. Add the eggs one by one.
- 12. Beat in each egg thoroughly before adding the next one.
- 13. Continue stirring until the dough is smooth and shiny.
- 14. Heat the frying oil in a wide pot.
- 15. Set the temperature to approximately 170 degrees Celsius.
- 16. Make sure there is enough oil for the balls to float.
- 17. Take a teaspoon and scoop off small balls of dough.
- 18. Fry the dough balls in batches in the hot oil.
- 19. Bake them for about 2 to 3 minutes until golden yellow.
- 20. Turn the balls occasionally so they cook evenly.
- 21. Remove the finished pastries from the oil.
- 22. Let them drain on kitchen paper.
- 23. Dust the pastries with powdered sugar.
- 24. Serve them warm.
