  1. 1. Put the water, butter, and salt into a pot.
  2. 2. Bring the mixture to a boil while stirring.
  3. 3. Remove the pot from the heat.
  4. 4. Stir in the flour all at once into the hot liquid.
  5. 5. Place the pot back on the stove.
  6. 6. Stir the dough vigorously until it pulls away from the bottom of the pot.
  7. 7. Let the dough cool down briefly.
  8. 8. Transfer the dough into a large mixing bowl.
  9. 9. Mix the sugar with the baking powder.
  10. 10. Beat the dry mixture into the dough using a hand mixer with dough hooks.
  11. 11. Add the eggs one by one.
  12. 12. Beat in each egg thoroughly before adding the next one.
  13. 13. Continue stirring until the dough is smooth and shiny.
  14. 14. Heat the frying oil in a wide pot.
  15. 15. Set the temperature to approximately 170 degrees Celsius.
  16. 16. Make sure there is enough oil for the balls to float.
  17. 17. Take a teaspoon and scoop off small balls of dough.
  18. 18. Fry the dough balls in batches in the hot oil.
  19. 19. Bake them for about 2 to 3 minutes until golden yellow.
  20. 20. Turn the balls occasionally so they cook evenly.
  21. 21. Remove the finished pastries from the oil.
  22. 22. Let them drain on kitchen paper.
  23. 23. Dust the pastries with powdered sugar.
  24. 24. Serve them warm.
