🍰 Creamy Rice Pudding with Apples

Ingredients
- 500 ml milk
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tsp butter
- 1 small piece lemon zest
- 2 tbsp vanilla sugar
- 40 g full cane sugar
- 125 g rice pudding rice
- 2 apples
- sugar-cinnamon mixture (for serving)
Instructions
- 1. Add the milk, a pinch of salt, the butter, the lemon zest, the vanilla sugar, and the whole cane sugar to a pot.
- 2. Heat the mixture while stirring occasionally until it boils.
- 3. Add the rice pudding rice to the boiling milk and stir briefly until it comes to a boil again.
- 4. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let the rice simmer for 40 to 45 minutes.
- 5. Wash the apples, dry them, peel them, and cut them into quarters.
- 6. Remove the core from the apple quarters.
- 7. Grate the apples finely.
- 8. Stir the grated apples into the rice when there are about 5 minutes of cooking time left.
- 9. Fill the finished rice pudding into small bowls.
- 10. Sprinkle the rice pudding with cinnamon sugar before serving.
