🍽️ Creamy Chocolate Chili Chicken

Ingredients
- 1 chicken (approx. 1.2 kg)
- 500 ml chicken broth
- 400 g peeled canned tomatoes
- 120 g peeled almond kernels
- 80 g dark chocolate
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 onion
- 1 jalapeño
- 80 g raisins
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds
- 1 tbsp cinnamon powder
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 0.5 tsp clove powder
- 0.25 tsp anise seeds
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the chicken under cold water and pat it completely dry with a kitchen towel.
- 2. Cut the meat into 4 to 6 pieces and place them in a baking dish.
- 3. Roughly chop the tomatoes and add them with their juice to a blending cup.
- 4. Roughly chop the almonds and add them to the blending cup as well.
- 5. Finely chop the chocolate and add it to the blending cup.
- 6. Peel the garlic, press it through a garlic press, and add it to the blending cup.
- 7. Peel the onion, dice it finely, and add it to the blending cup.
- 8. Seed the chili pepper, wash and dry it, finely chop it, and add it to the blending cup.
- 9. Add all remaining sauce ingredients to the blending cup.
- 10. Blend everything with a hand blender or in a food processor until smooth.
- 11. Mix the sauce with 300 milliliters of the broth.
- 12. Pour the sauce over the meat in the baking dish.
- 13. Turn the meat pieces several times in the sauce so they are well coated.
- 14. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
- 15. Cook the chicken in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes.
- 16. Baste the meat with the sauce repeatedly during the cooking time.
- 17. If the sauce becomes too thick, add a little more broth.
- 18. Serve the dish immediately after cooking.
