🍰 Refreshing Melon Basil Sorbet

Ingredients
- 50 g Sugar
- 400 g Melon Flesh
- 2 Limes
- 1 tbsp finely chopped Basil
- 2 small halved Melons (for serving)
- Basil (for garnish)
Instructions
- 1. Put the sugar into a pot.
- 2. Pour in 250 milliliters of water.
- 3. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- 4. Let it simmer for a few minutes until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- 5. Remove the pot from the heat and let the syrup cool down.
- 6. Cut the melon into rough chunks.
- 7. Place the melon chunks into a blender jar.
- 8. Wash the limes thoroughly.
- 9. Squeeze the limes and collect the juice.
- 10. Pour the cooled sugar syrup into the blender jar.
- 11. Add the lime juice.
- 12. Blend the melon together with the syrup and juice until smooth.
- 13. Gently fold the basil into the mixture.
- 14. Choose a freezing method.
- 15. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and let it freeze while churning.
- 16. Alternatively: Pour the mixture into a shallow dish.
- 17. Place the dish in the freezer for 4 to 5 hours.
- 18. Take the dish out of the freezer every 20 minutes.
- 19. Stir the mixture vigorously with a fork.
- 20. Repeat the stirring until the sorbet is firm.
- 21. Take the finished sorbet out of the freezer device or dish.
- 22. Stir it well one more time.
- 23. Shape small balls from the sorbet.
- 24. Halve a melon.
- 25. Place the sorbet balls into the melon halves.
- 26. Garnish the dish with fresh basil leaves.
