🍽️ Herring Salad with Apple

Ingredients
- 6 Matjes fillets
- 2 pickles
- 2 shallots
- 1 bunch parsley
- chives (1 bunch each)
- dill (1 bunch each)
- 8 tbsp olive oil
- white pepper (from the mill)
- 2 apples
- lemon juice
Instructions
- 1. Cut the herring fillets into small cubes.
- 2. Cut the gherkins into small cubes as well.
- 3. Place the herring and cucumber cubes into a bowl.
- 4. Finely chop the shallots.
- 5. Finely chop the fresh herbs.
- 6. Add the shallots and herbs to the bowl.
- 7. Drizzle some oil over the mixture.
- 8. Sprinkle some pepper over it.
- 9. Mix all ingredients thoroughly.
- 10. Cover the bowl.
- 11. Let the salad marinate in the refrigerator for two hours.
- 12. Wash the apples thoroughly.
- 13. Remove the core from the apples.
- 14. Slice the apples into ten equal slices.
- 15. Drizzle lemon juice onto the apple slices.
- 16. Arrange the finished herring salad on top of the apple slices.
