🍽️ Matjes Salad on Toasted Bread

Ingredients
- 4 kitchen-ready matjes fillets
- 1 hard-boiled egg
- 0.5 firm, peeled pear
- 1 stalk celery
- 60 g Gouda
- 50 g North Sea shrimp
- 3 tbsp mayonnaise
- 0.5 tsp mustard
- 0.5 tsp freshly grated ginger
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- salt
- pepper
- dill
- 0.5 baguette
Instructions
- 1. Dice the matjes herring into small cubes.
- 2. Dice the boiled egg into small cubes as well.
- 3. Remove the core from the pear.
- 4. Wash the celery and dice it into fine cubes.
- 5. Dice the Gouda cheese into fine cubes.
- 6. Place the diced celery and Gouda into a bowl.
- 7. Place mayonnaise and mustard into a separate small bowl.
- 8. Stir the mayonnaise and mustard together vigorously.
- 9. Add lemon juice, grated ginger, salt, and pepper to the mayonnaise mixture.
- 10. Mix the seasoned sauce well.
- 11. Add the finished sauce to the matjes and egg cubes.
- 12. Add the crab meat.
- 13. Mix all salad ingredients carefully but thoroughly.
- 14. Slice the baguette into even slices.
- 15. Toast the bread slices in the oven or toaster until golden brown.
- 16. Spread tartar sauce onto the toasted bread slices.
- 17. Place the matjes salad onto the sauced bread slices.
- 18. Garnish the dish with fresh dill sprigs.
