🍽️ Matjes fillets with potatoes and creamy sauce

Ingredients
- 8 tender mild matjes fillets
- 2 red onions
- 1 kg potatoes (all-purpose)
- 150 g yogurt
- 100 g whipping cream
- 2 tbsp sunflower oil
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 pinch sugar
- salt
- white pepper (freshly ground)
- 1 small bowl cress
Instructions
- 1. Peel the potatoes and cut them in half lengthwise.
- 2. Place the potato halves in a pot with plenty of salted water.
- 3. Cook the potatoes over medium heat for about 25 minutes until tender.
- 4. Drain the cooking water and let the potatoes drain well.
- 5. Peel the onions and cut them in half lengthwise.
- 6. Cut the onion halves into very fine, thin strips.
- 7. Whisk the yogurt, cream, oil, and vinegar together in a bowl.
- 8. Season the sauce with salt, sugar, and pepper to taste.
- 9. Rinse the matjes fillets under running water.
- 10. Gently pat the fillets dry with kitchen paper.
- 11. Place the drained potatoes on the plates.
- 12. Place the matjes fillets next to the potatoes.
- 13. Pour the creamy sauce over the potatoes and the fish fillet.
- 14. Sprinkle the dish with the cut onion strips.
- 15. Add some cress as a garnish.
- 16. Serve the dish immediately while warm.
