  1. 1. Peel the potatoes and cut them in half lengthwise.
  2. 2. Place the potato halves in a pot with plenty of salted water.
  3. 3. Cook the potatoes over medium heat for about 25 minutes until tender.
  4. 4. Drain the cooking water and let the potatoes drain well.
  5. 5. Peel the onions and cut them in half lengthwise.
  6. 6. Cut the onion halves into very fine, thin strips.
  7. 7. Whisk the yogurt, cream, oil, and vinegar together in a bowl.
  8. 8. Season the sauce with salt, sugar, and pepper to taste.
  9. 9. Rinse the matjes fillets under running water.
  10. 10. Gently pat the fillets dry with kitchen paper.
  11. 11. Place the drained potatoes on the plates.
  12. 12. Place the matjes fillets next to the potatoes.
  13. 13. Pour the creamy sauce over the potatoes and the fish fillet.
  14. 14. Sprinkle the dish with the cut onion strips.
  15. 15. Add some cress as a garnish.
  16. 16. Serve the dish immediately while warm.
