  1. 1. Place the marzipan, liqueur, and lemon zest into a bowl.
  2. 2. Mash the ingredients together with a fork until smooth.
  3. 3. Finely chop the almonds.
  4. 4. Stir the chopped almonds thoroughly into the marzipan mixture.
  5. 5. Roll the mixture into small balls the size of walnuts.
  6. 6. Place the balls in the refrigerator for a while to firm up.
  7. 7. Chop the chocolate coating into small pieces.
  8. 8. Melt the chocolate over a hot water bath.
  9. 9. Dip each marzipan ball one by one into the melted chocolate.
  10. 10. Place the coated balls onto a tray lined with baking paper.
  11. 11. Immediately place a thin almond slice on top of each still-wet truffle.
  12. 12. Let the truffles air dry until the chocolate is hard.
