  1. 1. Sift the flour into a large bowl.
  2. 2. Add the powdered sugar, the butter cut into small cubes, the egg yolk, and the rum.
  3. 3. Knead the ingredients quickly into a smooth dough.
  4. 4. Wrap the dough tightly in plastic wrap.
  5. 5. Store the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  6. 6. Preheat the oven.
  7. 7. Line the baking trays with baking paper.
  8. 8. Sprinkle some flour on your work surface.
  9. 9. Roll out the dough on the floured surface to a thickness of 3 to 4 millimeters.
  10. 10. Cut out circles with a diameter of about 4 cm using a cookie cutter.
  11. 11. Place the dough circles on the prepared tray.
  12. 12. Bake the cookies at 175 degrees Celsius top/bottom heat (or 160 degrees Celsius fan-forced) for 12 minutes until golden yellow.
  13. 13. Take the trays out of the oven.
  14. 14. Lift the cookies off the tray together with the baking paper.
  15. 15. Let the cookies cool down completely.
  16. 16. Take the marzipan for the decoration.
  17. 17. Knead the marzipan with powdered sugar and lemon juice into a homogeneous mass.
  18. 18. Place a layer of plastic wrap on the work surface.
  19. 19. Roll out the marzipan between two layers of plastic wrap to a thickness of 3 millimeters.
  20. 20. Cut out small stars from the marzipan.
  21. 21. Break the chocolate coating into small pieces.
  22. 22. Place the chocolate pieces and some oil in a heatproof bowl.
  23. 23. Place the bowl over a pot of hot water (bain-marie).
  24. 24. Melt the chocolate in the bain-marie while stirring.
  25. 25. Dip the cooled cookies in the melted chocolate.
  26. 26. Place a marzipan star on each cookie.
