🍰 Golden Marzipan Coins

Ingredients
- 250 g flour
- 150 g powdered sugar
- 150 g butter
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tsp rum (optional)
- 100 g marzipan raw mass
- 50 g powdered sugar
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 100 g milk chocolate coating
- 1 tsp oil
- flour (for working)
- baking paper (for the tray)
Instructions
- 1. Sift the flour into a large bowl.
- 2. Add the powdered sugar, the butter cut into small cubes, the egg yolk, and the rum.
- 3. Knead the ingredients quickly into a smooth dough.
- 4. Wrap the dough tightly in plastic wrap.
- 5. Store the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- 6. Preheat the oven.
- 7. Line the baking trays with baking paper.
- 8. Sprinkle some flour on your work surface.
- 9. Roll out the dough on the floured surface to a thickness of 3 to 4 millimeters.
- 10. Cut out circles with a diameter of about 4 cm using a cookie cutter.
- 11. Place the dough circles on the prepared tray.
- 12. Bake the cookies at 175 degrees Celsius top/bottom heat (or 160 degrees Celsius fan-forced) for 12 minutes until golden yellow.
- 13. Take the trays out of the oven.
- 14. Lift the cookies off the tray together with the baking paper.
- 15. Let the cookies cool down completely.
- 16. Take the marzipan for the decoration.
- 17. Knead the marzipan with powdered sugar and lemon juice into a homogeneous mass.
- 18. Place a layer of plastic wrap on the work surface.
- 19. Roll out the marzipan between two layers of plastic wrap to a thickness of 3 millimeters.
- 20. Cut out small stars from the marzipan.
- 21. Break the chocolate coating into small pieces.
- 22. Place the chocolate pieces and some oil in a heatproof bowl.
- 23. Place the bowl over a pot of hot water (bain-marie).
- 24. Melt the chocolate in the bain-marie while stirring.
- 25. Dip the cooled cookies in the melted chocolate.
- 26. Place a marzipan star on each cookie.
