🍰 Marzipan Nut Hearts

Ingredients
- 200 g flour
- 100 g ground walnuts
- 100 g sugar
- salt
- 1 egg
- 200 g butter
- flour (for the work surface)
- 150 g dark chocolate
- 30 peeled walnut kernel halves
- 100 ml milk
- 300 g marzipan raw mass
- 10 ml walnut liqueur
- 80 g powdered sugar
- 1 tsp lemon juice
Instructions
- 1. Mix flour, ground nuts, sugar, and a pinch of salt in a bowl.
- 2. Mound the mixture on your work surface.
- 3. Make a well in the center of the flour mound.
- 4. Crack the egg into the well.
- 5. Place the butter in small pieces around the egg.
- 6. Knead all ingredients quickly into a smooth dough.
- 7. Shape the dough into a ball.
- 8. Wrap the ball in cling film.
- 9. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- 10. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 11. Lightly flour your work surface.
- 12. Roll out the dough to about 0.3 cm thickness.
- 13. Cut heart shapes from the dough.
- 14. Place the hearts on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- 15. Bake the hearts in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes.
- 16. Remove the baking sheet from the oven.
- 17. Carefully lift the hearts from the sheet using the baking paper.
- 18. Let the hearts cool down completely.
- 19. Coat half of the cooled hearts with chocolate.
- 20. Press half a walnut into the chocolate.
- 21. Let the chocolate dry in the air.
- 22. Heat the milk in a pot.
- 23. Remove the pot from the heat.
- 24. Crumble the marzipan into the warm milk.
- 25. Stir the mixture until it is creamy and smooth.
- 26. Let the marzipan cream cool down.
- 27. Mix the cooled cream with the liqueur.
- 28. Fill the cream into a piping bag with a plain tip.
- 29. Spread the marzipan cream onto the remaining cookies.
- 30. Cover the cream-topped cookies with the chocolate hearts.
- 31. Mix powdered sugar with lemon juice to form a glaze.
- 32. Decorate the hearts with the lemon glaze.
- 33. Let the glaze dry.
- 34. Serve the finished hearts.
