  1. 1. Put the white wine, 4 tablespoons of honey, the lemon juice, the cinnamon stick, and the cloves into a pot.
  2. 2. Bring the mixture to a boil on the stove.
  3. 3. Wash the apples thoroughly under running water.
  4. 4. Remove the core of the apples using an apple corer.
  5. 5. Cut the apples in half so that you get two halves per apple.
  6. 6. Place the apple halves into the boiling wine syrup.
  7. 7. Let the apples simmer gently in the liquid for about 5 minutes.
  8. 8. Carefully remove the apple halves from the syrup and set them aside.
  9. 9. Lightly grease a baking dish with some fat.
  10. 10. Place the apple halves into the prepared baking dish.
  11. 11. Continue to reduce the remaining liquid in the pot.
  12. 12. Wait until the liquid thickens and reaches a syrupy consistency.
  13. 13. Cut the marzipan into small, manageable pieces.
  14. 14. Add the marzipan pieces to the reduced liquid.
  15. 15. Stir the mixture well until the marzipan has completely dissolved.
  16. 16. Put the egg white into a clean bowl and add a pinch of salt.
  17. 17. Beat the egg white with a mixer until very stiff, forming firm peaks.
  18. 18. Gently fold the stiffly beaten marzipan-egg white mixture in to avoid losing the air.
  19. 19. Coat the apple halves in the baking dish generously with the marzipan mixture.
  20. 20. Preheat the oven to 225 degrees.
  21. 21. Place the baking dish into the preheated oven.
  22. 22. Bake the apples for about 6 minutes.
  23. 23. Remove the baking dish from the oven after baking.
  24. 24. Sprinkle the hot apples with chopped pistachios.
  25. 25. Drizzle the remaining honey evenly over the finished baked apples.
