  1. 1. Wash the tomatoes thoroughly.
  2. 2. Halve the tomatoes and remove the hard stem attachment.
  3. 3. Dice the deseeded tomatoes into small cubes.
  4. 4. Peel the lemons and remove the white bitter pith.
  5. 5. Dice the lemon flesh into small cubes as well.
  6. 6. Place the tomato cubes, lemon cubes, sugar, salt, and vinegar into a large pot.
  7. 7. Heat the mixture until it comes to a full boil.
  8. 8. Reduce the heat to a low setting.
  9. 9. Let the jam simmer for about 45 minutes.
  10. 10. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.
  11. 11. Fill the hot jam immediately into prepared, sterile jars.
  12. 12. Seal the jars tightly with the lids.
  13. 13. Turn the jars upside down for a short moment.
  14. 14. Allow the jars to cool down slightly while inverted.
  15. 15. Turn the jars back to their upright position.
  16. 16. Let the jam cool down completely inside the jars.
